SciCrumb

Science you can listen to.

Research papers contain fascinating ideas, but reading them takes time and specialist knowledge. I built SciCrumb to make those discoveries easier to explore through short audio stories and clear notes.

Each piece turns a scientific paper into a three-minute listening experience, with the key findings, why they matter, and context to help make sense of them.

What I built

I took SciCrumb from an idea to a published iOS app, working across the listening experience, backend, content workflow, and subscription model. The project combines software engineering with editorial work: deciding what deserves attention and how to explain it clearly.

Beyond the code

Launching the app brought a different set of challenges: reaching listeners, explaining the product, and testing what people find valuable. I’ve been developing short-form science videos alongside the app to explore those questions.
